Rudolf Chlada learned his craft with one of the most renowned Viennese metalcraftsmen of the time, Messrs. Hagenauer. He worked for them in the former imperial Hofburg Palace, the Parliament building, the State Opera and St. Stephan´s Cathedral in Vienna.
As a young master craftsman he founded his own Workshop in 1960 together with his wife Linde. There a large vairety of objects are hand-made according to his own designs as well as for a number of years now also those of his son Robert. The Chlada Family and their artisans produce elegant home accessoires and gifts: desk sets, picture frames, and many other things.
All objects are hand-made in small numbers from high-quality pewter (97 per cent pure tin without any additions of lead). Special custom-made designs will be executed for orders of more than 200 pieces.
